The dog days of summer came to the Regency Hotel with the annual Bark Breakfast to support the Loews Loves Pets Program—one of many ways Loews Hotels around the U.S. and Canada aid local animal charities, including the American Kennel Club’s “DOGNY” charity for search & rescue dog organizations and the NYPD K-9 Unit. VIPs (Very Important Pets)—ranging from Golden Retrievers to Yorkies—turned out with their walkers, not a few of whom were quite surprised to reach for the buffet breakfast and realize it was dog food for the pets!!! No doubt about it, pet accessories rivaled their owners’ as some pooches modeled diamond-clad leashes.

In the pet pack: Illeana Douglas with dog Godfrey sporting a stylish corduroy jacket, The Producers’ Cady Huffman with Suzy—a Chihuahua hoping to be adopted, and Cindy Adams with her Jazzy—who, Cindy explained, has just penned Gift of Jazzy, a book of tell-all doggy dish about life with a gossip columnist (ghostwritten by we-know-who).

When The Sheet asked Jon Tisch about how he feels when guests bring along their pets for a hotel stay, he quipped, “I’m not worried—some pets are neater than people!”
