The Waldorf's Grand Ballroom was a mass of pink at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) Symposium and Knockout Lunch, dubbed "The Power of 10," in honor of the group's 10th anniversary year.

Since 1993, the BCRF, founded by Evelyn Lauder (vibrant in bold pink) has raised $98-mil, at least 85 percent of which goes directly to research. NY State First Lady Libby Pataki presented Lifetime Television Prez and CEO Carole Black with the Humanitarian Award. Upon accepting her honor, Black lauded Lauder for her 45-year tenure at The Estée Lauder Companies (Sr. Corp VP since 1989), for raising two great sons (Gary and William, who is now CEO), for participating in count-less philanthropic and social events around the city with her husband, Leonard, and for founding and constantly raising funds for the BCRF.

Among the crowd: Anne Eisenhower Flottl, Lady Sharon Harel-Cohen, Audrey Gruss, Gail Hilson, Thorunn Wathne, Jessie Araskog, Gigi Mortimer, Barbara Tober, Renee Rockefeller, Princess Firyal (of Jordan), Sir Ronald Cohen, Betsy Gotbaum, Faith Geier, Anne Bass, Muriel Siebert, Michele Herbert, Bonnie Lautenberg, Lynn Redgrave, and Evelyn's nieces Jane Lauder and Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer.

Today, the total recovery rate among those who are diagnosed early is a promising 97.5 percent. A knockout, indeed!
