The Metropolitan Museum of Art welcomed its latest exhibition at the ultra-glam Costume Institute’s benefit celebrating the late Alexander McQueen’s iconic designs and extraordinary contributions to the fashion industry. The exhibit, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, will be on view until July 31.
Met director Thomas P. Campbell said of the designer’s work, “Alexander McQueen’s iconic designs constitute the work of an artist whose medium of expression was fashion. This landmark exhibition continues the museum’s tradition of celebrating designers who changed the course of history and culture by creating new possibilities.”
