The downtown Tribeca loft of L. Marilyn Crawford, CEO of Primetime OmniMedia, was filled with baby bottles, rattles, and booties when well-wishers arrived to celebrate the new arrival in the household of Grammy-winning hip-hop rapper and producer Wyclef Jean and his wife, fashion designer Marie Claudinette Jean. Baby Angelina Bela Claudie Jean was born just 16 days earlier and adopted from the couple’s native country, Haiti.

The color scheme was “tickled pink—and yellow!” There were pink-and-yellow floral arrangements with baby chicks, by Saundra Parks of Daily Blossoms, and cute-as-can-be baby-bottle- and carriage-shaped cookies, by Baked Ideas. All of the delectable dishes were cooked up by Wyclef’s own mother, Grandma Jean, who wore a pink hand-woven, floor-length dress with matching pink headdress and white mink coat (designed by Marie’s company, Fusha). Baby Angelina made her debut dressed head-to-toe in pink, while Wyclef even accessorized with a pair of pink loafers! How was Wyclef adapting to fatherhood? Marie confided that on Angelina’s first night home, her musically inclined hubby (a former member of The Fugees and recent guest star on NBC’s Third Watch) lulled the crying baby to sleep by crooning a sweet lullaby.

Precious presents included: A one-of-a-kind, hand-designed baby carry-all; a sporty baby Burberry tennis ensemble; a wicker basket stuffed with a clothesline “pinned” with adorable baby outfits; a baby monitor (set to feature the brightest Jean star on camera!); baby books; even baby perfume.
