Evelyn and Leonard Lauder
The beauty and fragrance industries’ A-list turned out to support the March of Dimes at the 29th Annual Million Dollar Beauty Ball at The Waldorf. The black-tie-with-a-touch-of-beach event included dinner (surf-and-turf, chocolate palm trees on white chocolate sand with chocolate treasure chests of sorbet scoops), beach décor (potted palms, sea-blue table linens), and dancing (to a steel band). A silent auction included travel, fashion, and beauty treasures: a Michael Kors reversible leather and mink jacket, an original Angela Cummings necklace, a haircut and makeup application with Frédéric Fekkai, and a beauty makeover with Bobbi Brown, the evening’s recipient of the Beautiful Apple Award.

Nordstrom’s Dale Crichton, Exec VP of Corporate Cosmetics and Fragrance, also received the Retailer of the Year Award from Estée Lauder Chair, Leonard Lauder. Honorary Ball Chair was Lawrence Aiken, Vogue’s Executive Beauty Editor. And what would a beauty event be without goodie bags? There was a Nick & Nora pink flower-printed plastic tote waiting for every guest, chock-full of cosmetic gifts from event sponsors like BCBG, NARS, Revlon, and Stila. Dreams fulfilled for the guests and the evening’s million-dollar goal!
