Alberto, Piero, and Stefania Sabbadini

Milanese jeweler Alberto Sabbadini threw an over-the-goal-post Super Bowl Party at Club Colette in Palm Beach, inviting the island’s elite to a game feast, Italian-style! The spirit of the sport pervaded the Club. There were sprawling football-field buffets of Italian and American fare and wide-screen TVs. Although the party duds were billed as “casual,” many glitzy guests arrived dripping with jewels (some so big, they upstaged the football!).

As Janet Jackson boob-tubed the nation (effectively getting “Big Brother” Michael off the front page), we were talking to other relatives: Sabbadini’s son, Piero, and Bob Paltrow (uncle of Gwyneth), who reiterated how happy he was for his actress niece and her guy Chris Martin of Coldplay. Apparently, the whole family (including Gwyneth’s mom Blythe Danner) was excited about the sprouting of the newest branch of the Paltrow Family Tree! Other sports fans included Charles and Andrea Bronsman, Sydney and Dorothy Kohl, Douglas and Dale Anderson, Dom and Susan Telesco, Annette Friedland, Eugene and Linda Applebaum, Martin and J.C. Meyer, Ambassador of Hungary (and Bush family friend) Nancy Brinker, Roger and Bambi Felberbaum, Scott Weiner and Sheri Jedell, Gene and Stephanie Ribakoff, and Sylvia Callari.

By the way, does anyone know the score? … and we’re not talking the game here!
