Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theatre debuts the new satire Dinner with Mercedes Ruehl on July 7–August 2, then Susan Rose and Joan Stein’s new play Motherhood Out Loud July 30–Aug.1, and 1930s musical spoof Dames At Sea from August 11–September 6. The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center continues its stellar summer schedule. The Jewish Center of the Hamptons, East Hampton, celebrates its 50th anniversary with gratis programs including an economic discussion with a hedge fund manager, real estate developer and CNBC commentator (Aug.8), foreign policy chat with Foreign Affairs editor Gideon Rose (Aug. 23), American String Quartet (Sept. 5), and U.S. News and World Report editor Mort Zuckerman (Sept. 6). ArtHamptons showcases paintings, photos and sculpture July 10 to 12 at the Bridge Hampton Historical Society.

Spectator summer sports: Bridgehampton Polo Club’s Mercedes-Benz Challenge on Saturdays, July 18 through Aug. 22. The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League has five teams competing (schedule at hamptonsbaseball.org). Bridgehampton’s venerable Hampton Classic Horse Show is August 23-30, and the Shinne­cock Indian Powwow closes the summer with competitive dances, drumming, foods and crafts at the Southampton reservation Sept. 4–7.
