The Hamptons International Film Festival kicked off its much-anticipated Summer Premiere Series with a star-studded pre-release screening of Paramount Pictures/MTV Films Hustle & Flow at Southampton’s UA Cinema. The celebration continued with a chic after-party at Madame Tong’s/JL Beach Club, the Pan-Asian creation of restaurateur Ed “Jean-Luc” Kleefield. A first in a trio of previews and not-to-be-missed parties presented by ELLE (stay tuned for details about the remaining to-be-announced films), Hustle & Flow wowed at Sundance and took home the prestigious Audience Award.
Andrew Saffir chairs the Series and is founder of the Cinema Society, which will also welcome Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal as they host celeb pals at the premiere of their upcoming silver-screen release, Proof, in September at NYC’s soon-to-be-opened Core Club on West 55th Street.
On the scene: Rick and Kathy Hilton, Jaci and Morris Reid, Debbie Bancroft, Topper and Tinsley Mortimer, Queer Eye’s Thom Filicia and Ted Allen, Bettina Zilkha, Richard Meier, Marjorie Gubelmann Raein, B-52’s Fred Schneider, Douglas Hannant, Ines Rivero, Jonathan Cheban, and Terry Allen Kramer.
