Chef Andrew Carmellini
Get ready for a flawless experience at Café Boulud, the hot eatery that draws avid diners like Barbara Walters—who popped in while The Sheet lunched there—Woody Allen, Glen Close, Paula Zahn, Mike Nichols, and Sigourney Weaver, to name a few. The ambiance is both relaxing for lunch (sit outdoors for great people-watching on the posh tree-lined Upper East Side street) and simply elegant for dinner.

Try a cool Bellini for a cocktail starter, made with Café Boulud’s own fresh peach nectar. For an appetizer, chef Andrew Carmellini offers an assortment of delectable choices, like ceviche Baja with red snapper, octopus, shrimp, avocado, mango, and lime; or a trio of spring salads, including baby artichoke with pistou dressing, beets with shallot-chive dressing and chevre, and ahi tuna carpaccio served Provençal style with haricot verts, capers, tiny tomatoes, and anchovy dressing.

For an entrée, don’t miss the perfectly roasted Amish chicken with new potatoes, artichokes, and lemon-thyme nage—chicken has never tasted this good! And to cap off a meal, pastry chef Remy Funfrock whips up a sweet surprise like oeuf a là neige, filled with strawberry compote and rhubarb sorbet; or spearmint soup with finely chopped fresh grapes, berries, and mango, with blackberry sorbet and sour cream parfait.

Vive Café Boulud!
